We are dieting. Our cookie jar is empty and sitting in the lazy Susan below the counter. My poor thin daughter, home from college, never gets her Oreo fix. I never heard about an excuse jar. Wasn't used in my home growing up or in my home now. Why use an excuse, try using the truth: I don't want to go; I can't afford to help you right now; I need a night at home becasue I'm just too tired to go out but thanks. And, finally, for mom and dad.

It might come to the point where the kids have to visit them because they don't like to travel. Some do get old before their time. Too bad. It is their loss. Thanks for the article. Sounds like a good one for a popular magazine. And, good luck with your parents they certainly provide fodder for your blogging.
